2012 Field Fellowships

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official campaign arm of the Democrats in the House of Representatives. The DCCC is the only political committee in the country whose principal mission is to support Democratic House candidates every step of the way. This year, DCCC is hosting its second annual DCCC Fellowship.

Have you always wanted to break in to politics, but were unsure of how exactly to do it? Do you want to enter a Congressional campaign in a leadership position and receive top notch training from DCCC staff? Would you like to work for a current or future Democratic member of Congress?  More importantly are you interested in having a role with helping the Democrats taking back the House?

If you answered yes to the above, the DCCC Fellowship is for you. From June 2012 to November 2012, DCCC is offering 3 phases for our Fellowship program to help cultivate a new, exciting and dedicated group of fellows to work on top tier Congressional races around the country. This is a great opportunity to get on the ground and help the Democrats regain control of the House in 2012 and learn the ins and outs of a Congressional campaign.

Do you have what it takes to be a DCCC Fellow?

  • Are you smart, energetic, have a good sense of humor, fun and committed to helping the Democrats regain control of the House?
  • Are you a leader in your community? On Campus?
  • Are you interested in increasing your level of participation or start to be involved in politics?

What will you gain from the fellowship?

  • Top-Level campaign training from the DCCC. Where you will garner the skills on what it takes to win a competitive Congressional race.
  • A leadership role on a Congressional Campaign
  • Access to the DCCC’s Conference Call Series. This monthly series will consist of guest speakers discussing tips and the value of your work. Also you will be afforded the opportunity to share your experiences and what you are hearing in the field.

Fellowships are unpaid and persons invited to  attend a DCCC campaign training in their region of the country before they report to their campaign. Housing will be provided if necessary by the campaign. Trainings will be held at the end of May for summer and full sessions and at the end of August for the fall GOTV Session.

To apply for this program, please fill out the  form below and submit a resume, references and a cover letter by April 15, 2012. Fall GOTV Session applications are due by June 15, 2012.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kasmin Holt at (202) 478-9484 or at holt@dccc.org.

Please note acceptance to the fellowship program is on a rolling admission and that DCCC is flexible with the fellowship dates and potential overlap based on availability.
