Van Hollen Statement on Mike Quigley�s Primary Victory in the Illinois 5th

DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on Mike Quigley's primary win in the special election to represent Illinois' Fifth Congressional District. The general election is scheduled for April 7, 2009.

"Congratulations to Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley on his victory in the Illinois' 5th Congressional District primary election. Following in the tradition of President Obama and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Mike Quigley is a strong advocate for Illinois' middle class families. Mike Quigley will make an outstanding addition to our Democratic Caucus and will strengthen our fight to take our economy and our country in a New Direction."
