Republican Millionaire Tim Burns Endorsed by a Growing Number of Social Security Privatization Advocates

This morning Republican millionaire Tim Burns (PA-12) landed the endorsement of a group that wants to privatize Social Security and gamble the program on Wall Street.  The growing number of privatization advocates supporting Tim Burns reinforces what we already knew: Tim Burns’ out of touch agenda would have a devastating impact on Western Pennsylvania.

“The Republican scheme to privatize Social Security that Tim Burns and his supporters are calling for would have a devastating impact on seniors in Western Pennsylvania.  Only an out of touch millionaire like Tim Burns would think that it is a good idea to gamble on Wall Street the Social Security benefits seniors have earned,” said Shripal Shah, Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  “Tim Burns and his supporters’ call for privatizing Social Security reinforces what we already knew: his out of touch agenda is wrong for Western Pennsylvania.”
