Representative Cao Stunned to Find Himself at His Own Fundraiser with Newt Gingrich?

"Cao...said that while he knew he was going to be seeing Gingrich later in the day, he did not realize it was a fundraiser. ‘It is for him or for me?' Cao asked."

Representative Joseph "Anh" Cao must have been shaking in his shoes when he found out his "meeting" with conservative icon Newt Gingrich was really a $1,000 per plate fundraiser yesterday.

But was it really surprise, or just the latest episode in Representative Cao's efforts to mislead his constituents?

"Representative Cao works hard to burnish his right-wing credentials with Washington insiders and hide it from his constituents," said Jessica Santillo, Southern Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "First he said he'd vote for economic recovery, then he towed the party line and opposed it.  Next, he claimed he was a ‘closet Democrat,' and then turned around and raised money with Newt Gingrich."

Will Representative Cao continue to mislead his constituents about his values and votes?
