DCCC TV Ad Spotlights Bill Flores (TX-17) Taking Government Bailout Money and Leaving Taxpayers to Foot the Bill

The DCCC Independent Expenditure released a TV ad today that will begin running in Congressman Chet Edwards’ (TX-17) district.  The ad spotlights recently reported news that shows congressional candidate Bill Flores received a $7.5 million dollar government bailout when his oil company went bankrupt and only paid back one third of the money it owed, leaving taxpayers to foot the bill.  The DCCC ad will begin running tomorrow.

BACKGROUND:

When Bill Flores (TX-17) was a senior executive of a big oil company, his company received a $7.5 million dollar government bailout when his company went bankrupt.  The company only paid back one third of the money.   [Dallas Morning News, 10/9/10]
