DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen’s Statement on Chairman Tom Lantos’ Decision Not to Seek Re-election
DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on Chairman Tom Lantos’ announcement that he will not seek re-election.
"For more than 25 years, Chairman Tom Lantos has been a tireless leader for the working families of California. As the only Holocaust survivor to ever serve in Congress, Chairman Lantos has inspired generations of Americans with his courage and dedication to strengthening human rights, both at home and across the globe. Through his leadership of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Chairman Lantos has worked tirelessly to strengthen international alliances and restore America’s position as a source of inspiration around the world. We will miss his dedication, expertise, and leadership in Congress.
“On behalf of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, my thoughts and prayers are with Chairman Lantos, his wife Annette, and their entire family at this difficult time.”
