Cantor Meets with Grimm: Falls Flat On Ethics

Republican Leader Eric Cantor met with indicted Congressman Michael Grimm this afternoon and continued to fall flat on Republican Leadership’s “zero tolerance” ethics pledge.  Cantor called for the resignation of Congressman McAllister because he kissed a former staffer but has yet to hold Grimm, who has been indicted on 20 counts of federal crimes, to the same standard.

“Republican leadership loves to talk about their ‘zero tolerance’ policy but again just failed to live up to their own self-imposed standard,” said Josh Schwerin of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  “John Boehner and Eric Cantor are making a mockery of their own pledge and clearly care more about a swing seat election than an ethical House.”
