Burns Rakes in Over $80,000 from Privatization Advocates in 4 Weeks

Millionaire Republican Tim Burns is once again showing his true colors when it comes to his support for privatizing Social Security. The latest example comes from the millionaire’s FEC report which shows him raking in all kinds of cash from privatization advocates.  Over the course of four weeks, Burns has lined his campaign coffers with $80,900 from privatization advocates, a number that accounts for over 15% of all his contributions.

The report comes as Burns continues to campaign with a countless number of privatization advocates who want to gamble Social Security benefits on Wall Street.  In recent days Burns has also repeatedly declared that “all options are on the table” when it comes to Social Security privatization.

"Tim Burns and his supporters are pushing a risky scheme that gambles Social Security benefits that seniors have earned on Wall Street," said Shripal Shah, Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "The millionaire Republican can’t hide from the facts.  The agenda that Burns and his supporters are pushing would be devastating for Seniors who rely on Social Security benefits and is flat out wrong for Western Pennsylvania."
