BREAKING: DCCC Outraises NRCC by $2.4 Million in First Quarter

With $40.2 Million In The Bank, DCCC Has $9 Million More Than NRCC

Despite being in the minority, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee outraised the NRCC by $2.4 million during the first quarter of 2014 and maintained a commanding cash-on-hand advantage after posting a massive March, bringing in $10.3 million.  The DCCC has now raised $99 million for the cycle and, with $40.2 million in the bank, the DCCC has banked nearly double its cash at this point in the 2012.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised more in March than any other committee and more than any other on-year March in the DCCC’s history.

Quote from DCCC Executive Director Kelly Ward: “Our incredible grassroots supporters are shattering records as they fight against this Republican Congress' agenda that stacks the deck for special interests at the expense of the middle class. Americans across the country are speaking up and joining the effort to bring responsible leadership to Washington and stop this reckless Republican Congress that shut down our government and brought the nation to the brink of default."

The DCCC is building a well-resourced committee that can exploit or withstand any political environment in November. The Rothenberg Political Report has described the committee’s extraordinary cash advantage as its “not so-secret weapon.” [Rothenberg Political Report, 12/5/13]

So far this year, the DCCC has brought in $5.8 million online from more than 300,000 donations – both Q1 records for a party committee. The DCCC also raised a record $19.4 million from more than 1,000,000 online donations in the off year, another record for a party committee. Overall, the DCCC has grown a massive advantage in small-dollar donations over the NRCC, out-raising them nearly 3-to-1 among low-dollar donors in 2013 ($29,995,730 to $11,553,412).

The DCCC’s success is built on a strong foundation: Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi continues to be a significant fundraising force among grassroots and major donors, and Chairman Israel has surpassed former Chairman Rahm Emanuel’s fundraising record for the committee.
