Reynolds Running on Record of Job Losses

In Tom Reynolds’ First Campaign Ad he Talks All About Jobs, but Since he’s Come to Washington, Thousands of New Yorkers Have Lost Their Jobs

16,700 Western New York Private Sector Job Losses Under George Bush and Tom Reynolds

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Congressman Tom Reynolds released his first TV advertisement of the 2006 election cycle and it’s all about jobs. Reynolds, however, has a record of supporting trade agreements and economic policies that have led to thousands of job losses in Western New York. In fact, under George Bush and Tom Reynolds, Western New York has lost nearly 17,000 private sector jobs with over 14,000 jobs lost in Rochester alone. Upstate New York has been hit hard by this economy and by job losses and it is time for a new direction in Washington.

“If Congressman Reynolds thinks that whatever it is he is doing to create jobs is working, I suggest he stop. New Yorkers won’t be fooled by a new TV spot after years of job losses and Reynolds’ record against working families,” said Bill Burton, communications director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Tom Reynolds may think he can convince the families he represents that things are going well, but they know all too well the devastating impact of job losses in Western New York. It’s time for a new direction.”
