Tea Party Group Does Martha McSally’s Dirty Work

Since Martha McSally refuses to say what she thinks about the biggest issues facing Arizona and the country, the Tea Party is stepping in to do McSally’s dirty work. Americans for Prosperity, the large Tea Party organization backed by the Koch brothers, has launched attacks in McSally’s district as part of their agenda to put insurance companies back in charge of people’s health care.

“It’s easy for Martha McSally to continue to stay silent while her Tea Party allies lob attacks on her behalf,” said Matt Inzeo of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Unless Martha McSally says otherwise, Arizonans are left to assume that she backs the Tea Party’s radical agenda that threatens people’s health choices.”

On October 7, 2013, the Arizona Republic reported on Martha McSally’s refusal to take a position on the shutdown: “In southern Arizona, Republican candidate McSally wouldn’t take a stand despite multiple requests for her position from The Republic, Arizona Daily Star, Green Valley News/Sahuarita Sun and KVOI-AM (1030). She would say only that the shutdown is ‘a failure of leadership.’” [Arizona Republic, 10/07/13]
